Stunning
By Stevieb47 (89 reviews) from Sheffield , 27 Feb 2005[Highly rated reviewer]
Must admit it was the cover that sold me on this one - 3 foxy Asian chicks in sexy catsuits and tooled up - and its a belting movie as well...
Qi Shu plays Lynn who with her younger sister Sue(Vicky Zhao) run a high-tech assasination group - they do this because their Father designed a satillite survelence system but got murdered by the gangsters who wanted it for themselves and the two sisters undertake to revenge themselves.
Lynn manages to gain access to the baddies HQ and guided by Sue who runs all the techie stuff manages to kill the Chairman - one neat trick is too flood the building security systems with music - in this case The Carpenters Close to Me - so you end up with a kick ass Kung-Fu fight sequence set to Burt Bacharach.....which you don't see too often....
A local maverick cop(Hong at Hong - Karen Wong) is soon on their trail - things become complictated when the next hit they undertake turns into a set-up and soon the two sisters are fighting for thier lives while trying not get arrested.
Soon we are up to ears in car chases, gunfights and HK action fighting - all brilliantly done by Coery Yeun(who was involved with both Crouching Tiger and The Matrix) - there is a also a central bond betwen the two sisters that provides an emotinal core that acts as a counter-balance to all the action.
An event takes place half way through that is the pay-off to all this and Sue and Hong join forces against the rest of the bad guys(more than a hint of John Woo's The Killer) resulting in some really stunning stunts and wire-work.
The whole thing culminates in a bloody samurai sword fight and with more than a hint of lesbianism thrown in this is the kind of movie that Taratino gets his rocks off to....
The 3 leads are all exellent - Qi Shu is stunningly beatiful(she was the girl in The Transporter) and the whole thing is done with such style and grace it proves just how ahead of the pack Hong Kong still is.- Was this review helpful to you?

(51)Disapointing
By a customer from Farnborough , 23 Feb 2012The first thing I have to say is that the special effects in this film have to be amongst the worst I have seen.
The story line was fairly poor and the whole script packed full of cheese.
There were also so many hole in the plot you could drive a bus through it.
The only thing that gave this film any chance of keeping me awake was the fight scenes interspersed throught. The sword fight at the end was particularly good.
Worth a watch for martial arts film fans.- Was this review helpful to you?

Even a great curry and lots of booze cannot redeem this steaming pile of...
By DiGriso (37 reviews) from Guisborough , 04 Dec 2011This is terrible - bad acting, poor story, appalling CGI, and to top it all off really unconvincing girly fighting sequences which make Scarlett Johanssen look vicious in Ironman 2.
Avoid at all costs esp if you like Transporter.
It isn`t even any good if you have had a curry and are really drunk - it`s that bad!!- Was this review helpful to you?

Love, Revenge, kung-fu, gun-fu
By a customer from Huntingdon , 18 Jan 2009This is one of those films which tries to hit many buttons at once.
And amazingly succeeds.
The main love story is a little thin despite the amount of screentime, but the pseudo-lesbian attraction between the lead cop and the 2nd assassin works well.
And then there's the action. The wirework is almost flawless and it feels only just beyond human capabilities - I hate it when they fly rather than super-jump.
Gun-fu, a little less - good, but only 3/4 that of say Equilibrium.
5-stars - This is an action flick you can watch with your girlfriend.- Was this review helpful to you?

Really good film
By a customer from South Gloucestershire , 21 Nov 2008Another great film from the, 'Transporter' director, (Cory Yuen) as in those films, the fight scenes over the top but absolutely amazing in the way they have been filmed and worked out.
As i said, completely over the top and yes you can pick holes in some aspects of it but just sit back, put your brain in netural and just watch how an action fim is done in Asia.
If the above doesn't impress you, just watch for 2, (possibly 3) very sexy Asian girls fight and kick ass. Tends to be Men in Asian films fighting so worth the look purely for that.- Was this review helpful to you?
