The trailer for this makes it look like a comedy about an old man refusing to grow up, but it's false advertising. The film's actually a drama about an old successful man's slide into near poverty; which can only be blamed on himself. The film's perfectly cast, well written and directed, but overall it's quite depressing. I kept thinking when is some sort of redemption going to kick in? When is he going to stop hurting the people who care about him? When is he going to turn things around? You have to wait a long time.

Michael Douglas playing an amoral and not very nice character for whom one has no empathy. The corrupting relationship between him and the young girl who he seduces is frankly tasteless. We turned it off after 20 minutes

I watched this film on Monday night with no expectations because I didn’t remember why I put this film on my rental list in the first place. I was more then entertained, but be warned this is not a comedy! If I was in my twenties I would have been probably bored, but issues addressed in this drama left me thinking and wondering… even guessing what the ending is.

Michael Douglas plays the 60 year old car dealer who is trying to rebuild his business while searching for validation/satisfaction/solution to his personal crisis by seducing every female in sight regardless of her age, status or relationship without considering the consequences of his actions. A business man once at the top of his game now at the rock bottom, on the verge of losing everything and everyone who has ever cared for him…

I cringed, I was shocked, appalled, disgusted - to sum it up, this is not everyone’s cup of tea but certainly points out what can happen if you take too many irresponsible risks in life no matter how you justify your choices.

Would I recommend this movie? Perhaps to someone who is going thought mid life crises to cheer themselves up watching someone else's endeavors, who is 100 times worse off, to demonstrate what to expect in your sixties, if behaving recklessly.

Is there redemption, happy ending? Now, that would be telling ;-)

I thought the cast was picked well, especially young actress Imogen Poots who brilliantly portrays character of a young ‘bright’ thing, seduced by 3x older, experienced charmer, who was entrusted responsibility to accompany her on a short trip for a college interview. I won’t go to details in case you decide to ad this title to your rental list, but Lolitesque theme is worth mentioning for its honest, realistic and impressively accurate depiction of sexually aware young generation.

I was bored throughout this whole film but I continued to watch it in the hope that something exciting would happen. It didn't!

I agree with one of the other reviewers on here, the trailer makes it look like it's a comedy, hence my decision to rent it, as it looked quite amusing. Definitely false advertising!

    Not a film I'd recommend I'm afraid.
