Not original, but good feel good movie

A Great feel good movie, about love, life and race.

A young couple overcome their personal issues in the pursuit of love!

    oh dear

Like watching some sort of training video for race awareness. Stilited, poorly acted, heavy handed and with a central love story with no chemistry.

    A good film.

Don't be fooled into thinking this is your usual rom-com. It doesn't strictly fill that genre - which is a good thing. Something New rarely makes you laugh, but it is an interesting perspective on mixed-race relationships and the chemistry between the leads is certainly watchable. I enjoyed this and would watch it again.

    Great Film

If you like films like, Brown Sugar, Love and basketball etc you will love this film, it is predictable but so are a lot of films, a very enjoyable film.

    Does race/colour REALLY matter?

This is the story of a successful, african american woman who is looking for her ideal black man. She soon discovers that love does not come in the neat, little package one expects. She starts having feelings for her landscaper (who is white and not her ideal colour) and starts letting her hair down and enjoying life. She does however, spend the whole film trying to get rid of the poor bloke cause he's not black!!! I found the film rather cynical, seeing as there is nothing more pathetic than black people trying to be white or white people trying to be black. An interesting watch, although I did not find it a convincing love story: no chemistry between the two main actors at all.

    Nice idea Bad Script

Was a nice idea in theory - but just sooooo boring to watch. I watched the whole movie despite having a feeling of boredom throughout - i just kept expecting for something exciting to happen but it never did. In a word disappointing

    Something old something new

A traditional love story. we start out thinking we know exactly what we like and then.... Are we programmed by our upbringing only to find there are other things in life! A good honest film .
