After years of disappointing sonic games, it looks like there's light at the end of the tunnel!

Less that 2 minutes after turning my wii on I'm catapulted into classic 3d sonic like it should be, running around at high speeds, homing in on everything in plain sight, grinding rails like there's no tomorrow.

    Brill!

As the title suggests, this game is full of colours, boasting to be the best looking game on the wii, this game leaves you staring at your surroundings in awe as you sprint your way through 7 different zones.

But sega once again pioneered to add something extra to this game, and they did in the form of two things, the first is that during gameplay you often find yourself swapping between a 3d and 2d view more like the classic sonic games giving each level a bit of variety without ruining the gameplay drastically.

The second is the addition of wisps, these replace the capsule encased power-ups we're oh-so familiar with, each different colour wisp gives sonic an ability that he can activate by hitting a button on you controller, for example, by gathering a yellow wisp sonic can turn into a drill creating a new path under and round enemies.

Despite the game being rather short from start till finish (i clocked around 7 hrs) it has unlimited replay value with the option to go back through the levels and collect special coins to unlock features for a very fun multiplayer mode! (I've been at it for a good few hours now and i've only got 50/180!)

Overall i think this is a great game, if not slightly challenging at times especially with the boss battles, definitely a 5*, if you're not familiar with sonic I'd say rent it and see what you think, but if you're a sonic fan go out and buy this gem, you wont regret it!

Other than Sonic Generations on Xbox360/PS3 this is the best Sonic experience available and certainly the finest the Wii has to offer and the kids enjoyed it.

I didn't like it but that's probably because I grew up with the other 3d games, I found the controls easy and the graphics were okay but I like games with a proper story and not some weird thing about aliens, I felt that that was the major flaw, it kinda reminded me of sonic x season 3 and that is not a good memory so that was disappointing, sonics voice also went through me like nails on a chalkbourd but that can't be helped, I didn't even complete it, I just generally don't like it

I think this game was medium. The graphics weren't that good. The first set's easy and the second set is hard.
