One of the finest acts ever...
By Mike Conyard from Gosport, Hampshire , 17 Jun 2005[Highly rated reviewer]
Sonic Youth have always been one of the most underrated bands of the last (dare I say) twenty five years.. I won't bore you waxing lyrical about their music.. I think you either get it or you don?t.. but to say this is collection of rarely see promos spanning from 'Goo' to 'Murray Street' with some excellent odds and ends along the way (?My Sonic Room? a personal favourite..) Directors commentary on everything and some very nice indexing for the geek in you... a must for any Sonic fan..
?but when will '91', The Year Punk Broke' be available?- Was this review helpful to you?

(4)Stay with the records
By Martin McCarthy from Glasgow, Scotland , 19 Jun 2005I love Sonic Youth and the tracks on this DVD are great. But for me the visuals really added very little to (and in some cases detracted from) the music. Maybe it'll work for you, but I'll stick to my Sonic Youth CDs in future.- Was this review helpful to you?

Corporate Ghost
By a customer from London , 29 Oct 2004Corporate Ghost is packed with practically every video they have ever recorded, along with director & band commentaries. It also has a pile of extras including some videos for the band member's solo work etc.
The videos for Sonic Youth were never well-played despite some top-notch directors in charge of them Spike Jones, Harmony Korine, Todd Haynes etc. so a lot of them I was seeing for the very first time. On the whole the visuals are good, pretty much what I expected - kind of arty, lo-fi, 8mm, video camera stuff - but really not a patch on the incredible music. If you have yet to hear this band try the DVD. Plus the Harmony Korine video for 'Sunday' starring Macaulay Culkin is worth a look.- Was this review helpful to you?

Art punks
By Sukyaneer from London , 20 Aug 2004Here the art punk NYC based group turn on the cheesy groove, so be prepared for low budget, highly entertaining anti-MTV videos.
Best part is the obsessive fan in her bedroom and the fan's video using sock puppets miming to a Sonic Youth tune.
Extremely fun and recommended for the light of heart from the experimental jet set.- Was this review helpful to you?
