The most hillarious film I've EVER seenBy Fruitloops (1 review) from London , 14 Aug 2008
[Highly rated reviewer]This is a movie you'll either love or hate. Either you'll 'get it' or you won't. The main plot follows three Texas siblings and their families on the day of their mother's funeral. However, the main plot serves only as a glue to hold together several sub-plots which are the movie's real substance. Drag queens, feuding big-haired sisters, obesity, gayness, Oprah, - even giving up smoking are just some of the subjects which are touched upon. I got the impression the whole thing was done on a tight budget and in a short space of time, but this unrefined quality was part of the film's attraction. It was also very obvious that the cast had a great time making it. Watch it, and if you don't get it, watch it again. If it's still not floating your boat then it's not for you.

Diabolical, steer clearBy taboo (45 reviews) from Lytham St. Annes , 11 May 2013Dear God, Why? What the hell was Olivia Newton John and Beau Bridges doing in this crap. They must have owed someone a big favour or were being paid a mint. It is dreadful and an embarrassment.
Sordid indeed!By a customer , 01 Apr 2013OMG! Words cannot express how bad this film is. It looks like a local drama club ad-libbed in front of a cheap video camera. Please don't bother! Beware the trailers on this DVD- they are truly vile.
Ain't It A B1tch, Sorting Out Our Sorry Little, Sordid Lives !!!By a customer , 26 Dec 2011'Sordid Lives' is the tale of a white trash family and their associated friends.
Every one of them has a sordid tale to tell, yet every one of them looks down on the others, thinking of themselves as being better than the rest.
When I first started to watch 'Sordid Lives', I thought 'My God, what have I rented here', but I could hear the odd good one-liner, so I persevered.
Am I glad I did !!!
'Sordid Lives' is filmed like a stage show more than a movie, thus emphasising the in-bred, red-necked, Hill-Billy lifestyle, effect.
It's one of those films you may have to watch twice to appreciate, but it's worth it !!!
Cute and some funny partsBy MattLondon (10 reviews) from London , 02 Oct 2011This cute and at times funny movie is worth watching. Not too deep but if you are in the mood for white trash and crude humour it's a great laugh. Some great bits where the transvestite and psychiatrist have a unusual therapy session. Who is better suited to be in the asylum?
A fairly straight forward movie with no surprises. However some fun characters makes this fully watchable.
Olivia Newton John must have been desperateBy jkayjnr (1 review) from Stockport , 30 Nov 2010I never normally write reviews - but felt I had to with this. It's truly the cheapest film I have ever rented off love film. It looks like it was made on a camcorder by a bunch of amateurs - technically it's riddled with flaws. It's a shame because some of the performances are great - I stuck with it after reading other reviews to give it a fair try - but was truly disappointed...
