    [Highly rated reviewer]

This is an important film that everyone needs to see. After they have watched this they then need to watch John Pilger's The War on Democracy, Rob Newman's A History of Oil and The Revolution Will Not Be Televised.

I can’t even begin to tell you how disappointed I felt after I watched this documentary is totally biased.

I am a Venezuelan and I have witnessed first-hand abuse of power from the president not only toward the media but against anyone who does not agree with his view of this so called ‘revolution’.

He does not represent the majority of Venezuelan people. He has fixed every general election time after time and most of venezuelan know this, but cannot do anything about It, they are powerless and fearful. He controls every organism in the county including the one who arrange the elections. You are no longer allow to think for yourself you either quietly accept his ideology or become an enemy of the process.

People who don’t vote for him find difficult to access from public services and even more so if you work for the government you are threaten to lose your job and pension, this a fact I know first-hand.

Whenever a peaceful protest takes place he dissolve it by suspending the human guarantees (meaning you can get shoot and nobody will be prosecuted for it) this works very quickly.

The Part in the video where he is visiting his town home is one of the very few where he can still freely walk and find followers that want to shake his hands. Most of his family lives in that small region and has bought favour with the poor people there. Normally he is always highly guarded by an army team, whenever he goes to the street he close whole block and grant only access to his followers wearing theses red t-shirts. Unfortunately media seems to only capture these images which are not the majority.

Chavez made sure he closed other independent channels who could not be in silent with the raising of cost of living, insecurity and poverty, he tried to call this a campaign against him but in fact was loud cry against the injustice taking place. Today we can only watch what he had allowed us to watch threatening the remaining channels with cancelling their license to broadcast.

Honestly I don’t recall Venezuela ever being so poor like it is today. I don’t know where the statistics these program were taken from, honestly the poverty in Venezuela has more than doubled since he came to power. Once upon a time there were high, media a low class nowadays there is not media class and he has worked very hard to eliminate the high class. He had divided the country and has instigated hatred against them as if it was a crime to want to have a better education to live in a nice place or wishing a better future for yourself.

It was easier for him to control the poorest of the poor as they just follow like sheep. He hates to be challenged by a higher educated people. Actually they might be in danger of being murdered of put in jail, obviously none of these was presented in this documentary.

I would like to see if the guy who made this program survives a week in the capital city. It’s a total joke, delinquency has increased immensely in the last few years is not safe for us to walk in the streets, we fear for our lives and yet Chavez said in this documentary he carried with him the death of those soldier who died to defend him I wonder if he carries with him the death of those who die every day, give me a break!

He can talk all he wants but Venezuelan we know exactly he has all the traits of a dictator. You either go quietly or submit to this regimen or you die is that simple.

It was deeply concerned to read some viewers found this documentary educational when really it only tells chavez's side.

I never write reviews but I was shocked to find people talking about a subject that they clear have no idea what they are talking about and the real situation of the country so even if it is through a review I will openly express my opinion without fear of repression that this a BIG FAT LIE.

A very good rapid tour of the politics of Latin America and the successful attempts to throw off US domination in many countries. I can still remember the dark days of Pinochet, and always think about this when Obama tells us that the Western ideals are all about democracy.

Good coverage of the Bolivar movement in S America. The work that the S. American leaders are doing to challenge the US dominant ideology on the globe is fantastic and will benefit us all in the long run. There is ongoing deep change and this film is a good vehicle of hope. Its not a thorough piece and is centred on the many leaders of these nations to the exclusion perhaps of some academic background or the peoples views but as long as it is taken as that it is a great watch.
