A childhood dream fulfilled
By a customer from London, England , 08 Jul 2004[Highly rated reviewer]
Imagine going to space camp for a summer holiday and ending up on a mission in space. Any young childs dream. It happens here. A mix of kids, all from wide and stereotypical backgrounds get together and through a very farfetched number of coincidences end up in space. Dated effects, an annoying robot and an up an coming young cast (J. Phoenix, Lea Thompson) give the film cult status and allow us mere mortals to wonder what could have been. Good fun for all the wrong reasons.- Was this review helpful to you?

(14)A classic 1980's kid's movie
By Hiphopopotomus (36 reviews) from Exeter , 16 Aug 2011The last time I watched Space Camp was when I was a kid. I remember it being good so decided to re-watch it (As my token effort to mark the demise of the Shuttle programme).
Despite a few, minor points, this movie has stands the test of time fairly well. It's a nice fun adventure. The Robot (Max I think it was called) is a poor mans R2-D2 but is not as annoying as you think it will be. Worth a watch.- Was this review helpful to you?

Cheese burger and fries.. loved it
By a customer from cheshire, england , 09 Jun 2009I fancied a walk down memory lane. i saw this film back in the 80's when the fashion was cool, music was great and soda stream was still rubbish.
Acting is chesy, special effects are ok adn the plot is not believeable - LOVED IT

Good fun
By MickeyMouse3000 (299 reviews) from Dorset, England , 17 May 2009I saw this on tv recently and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It's innocent family fun with likeable characters, great drama and lots of tense excitement. I liked the music used aswell, it created a good atmosphere. It is looking dated now, but it didn't bother me at all (and I always enjoy seeing current stars when they were small - like chubby little Joaquin Phoenix!) A great little space adventure movie.- Was this review helpful to you?

waste of time
By a customer from southampton , 08 Mar 2008Space Camp starts off great, introduces good caracters and an interesting if highly unlikely and unplausable story line. the plot spirials out of control though and your left with overly long time wasting clips that make you want to go and the do the ironing or perhaps walk the dog instead- Was this review helpful to you?

By a customer from huntingdon uk , 09 Nov 2006I rememebr watching this a a teenage and though it was really good, about a groupd of kids wanting to go up into space and end up there and trying to get home, i enjoy it as a teenage and again as an adult.... not everyone would like this sort of film but i enjoyed it and it took me back to my teenage years thinking of all the things i wanted to do but yes still not done.........- Was this review helpful to you?
