Space Chimps
When a $5 billion Space Agency probe disappears into an intergalactic wormhole, the agency recruits Ham III, grandson of the first chimpanzee in space, to help retrieve the wayward craft. But Ham is a free-spirited circus performer more interested in zero gravity high jinks than living up to his illustrious heritage. The simian slacker becomes a reluctant hero and learns the true meaning of courage as he and his crewmates, the plucky Lieutenant Luna and their by-the-book commander, Titan, risk everything in an effort to save the peaceful inhabitants of a distant planet from an evil dictator.

Quite a riot of rocket and chimps chaos.
A relatively unhyped animation, Space Chimps is based around HAM III, a pale imitation of his grandfather HAM I who became a chimp champ when he was blasted into space as part of a NASA experiment. Two generations later HAM II is a circus cannonball act, with pretentions to being a superchimp himself, when the chance arises though all is not ape-arrently well with HAM II who isn't quite as bold as he would like to think. With a bit of love interest and a chance to rescue a new mission, as always all things don't quite go to plan. This is a bit of a family gem that might just get missed by most.. so get it on your list and have a bit of madcap monkey magic before the word is out. Definately worth a watch.

space chimps
have seen better animation, but non the less this was a fairly entertaining film. storyline a bit weak, and will mostly suit the toddler group.

Admit it: you thought Space Chimps was bad. Well think again. This 3D animated kiddie flick (the first feature so designed) might as well have been written by monkeys, it’s an insult to the intelligence of toddlers. (Not mine though – he liked it.) Where to begin? The concept is that three young houseflies stow away on the Apollo 11 space rocket with Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins.
