Jack Nicholson almost lost out on the role of The Joker in 1989's Batman movie - because Spider-Man star Willem Dafoe was director Tim Burton's first choice. The Shining actor landed the iconic part opposite Michael Keaton as the Caped Crusader, but Dafoe admits the movie could have been very different had he agreed to work on the superhero film. Shankman rocks out with Rock of Ages: The Movie

Actor Tobey Maguire and filmmaker Adam Shankman are teaming up to adapt Broadway musical Rock Of Ages for the big screen. Shankman, who transformed the stage production of Hairspray into a Hollywood movie musical in 2007, will direct and choreograph the film, while Spider-Man star Maguire will co-produce the project. Spider-Man star Tobey Maguire and his jewellery designer wife Jennifer Meyer are celebrating after becoming parents to a baby boy. The child, the couple's second, was born on Friday (08May09), according to America's Life & Style magazine.
