The Life and World of Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche, Primary Teacher of the Dalai Lama. Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche - poet, scholar and meditator - is considered to be the "Master of Masters" among the four schools of Tibetan Buddhism. This tribute to him took ten years to make, beginning in 1989 when Matthieu Ricard, a French monk, began taping extensive footage of his teacher.

When Rinpoche died in 1991, his followers determined to share the life of this great teacher with the world. Many leading film makers, artists, musicians and organisations have contributed to this documentary. Shot in rarely filmed Eastern Tibet and in Nepal, India, Bhutan and France, the film shows the rich and intricate tapestry of Tibetan Buddhism and is a witness to the strength, wisdom and depth of the Tibetan Culture.
