superb family filmBy williamsgwynfa (627 reviews) from gwaenysgor , 24 Apr 2007
[Highly rated reviewer]my children love spongebob, particularly when spongebob consoles himself, with ice cream sundaes when he doesn't get promoted. this causes he and his best friend Patrick to lose control.
There's trouble brewing in Bikini Bottom. Someone has stolen King Neptune's crown, and it look like Mr. Krab, SpongeBob's boss, is the culprit. Though he's just been passed over for the promotion of his dreams, when Mr. Krab opens up another Krusty Krab restaurant, where he names Squidward as the new manager, SpongeBob stands by his boss, and along with his best pal Patrick, sets out on a treacherous mission to Shell City to reclaim the crown and save Mr. Krab's life.
could plankton, Mr Krab's rival, have put plan Z into action, to steal the crown? watch it to find out. I am not going to spoil the plot for you.
Spongebob is a young sponge who works at a fast-food restaurant, that serves Krabby Patties, with his neighbour Squidward. His best friend is Patrick Starfish, who lives under a rock and has a very low IQ.
Still, their friendship carries them through many a tight spot, as they strive for manliness.
well worth watching

Good funBy Arbobug (16 reviews) from Dundee , 10 Nov 2008It's inevitable that when a popular series becomes SO popular, they will make a film out of it. Spongebob wasn't even around for long before a film was made out of it.
The only reason I seen this film is because my girlfriend practically forced me. Well, I was quite willing actually, I'm always up for trying things for a laugh! I didn't really have much knowledge of the series before watching the film, and I had seen next to no episodes, but I did enjoy it.
The first thing you've got to keep in mind is that it's a children's film, but one of those children's films that 'adults will enjoy too'. I can't really remember most of the plot, it was just insane Spongebob madness. There were a lot of parts that were really funny, and in fact I remember there were some lines that the characters said that would have gotten away with being in an adult's comedy film!
I can't warn you about this film or reccomend it because I'm not a child. But I think children would really enjoy it. It's certianly no Disney of Pixar film, but it's enjoyable, and funny, and kids love Spongebob!

very funnyBy Andrews (66 reviews) from London , 12 Oct 2008
[Highly rated reviewer]Is there something wrong with me? I'm 37 and I watch this movie all on my own about once a month and laugh my head off at it every time. The bit at the start where Spongebob gets washed is one of the funniest things I've ever seen. I love you Spongebob - you're my role model. Sadly I've got much more in common with Squidwood.
spongebobBy a customer from London , 12 Oct 2008Bob promises and bob delivers, not your standard disney rubbish.
Customer ReviewBy a customer from UK , 23 Jun 2008Great little film, that is refreshingly free of any moralising or any desire to overwhelm the viewer with eye-searing special effects. Just good old-fashined animation and some funny gags, plus a slightly surreal appearance from David Hasselhoff.
The best part for me is when the 2 main characters get absolutely sloshed on ice-cream (I suppose for a kid's film, they had steer clear of alcohol) and wake up looking in a very bad state...
Customer ReviewBy a customer from UK , 23 Jun 2008I am a big fan of Spongebob, he would always crack me up watching the cartoons.
But this movie wasnt very good at all. There were some scenes that made me laugh but the overall structure of the film dissapointed me.
Perhaps I expected to much from this film.
