Many fans of Spooks will find this series different as the Spooks franchise goes through a period of massive transition. This series sees the 3 main characters leave the series and the viewer having to become accustomed to a whole set of new characters. The exits and entries span the whole series, which forces the viewer to step outside of their comfort zone. Look beyond this and there are some amazing episodes, and we see some of the minor characters really develop. Stick with it - this is quality drama!
This series is full of twists and turns and really keeps you on the edge of your seat. It's unpredictable storylines provide entertaining, poignant drama at it's best. Superb acting throughout,it's pseudo-realism is unsurpassed by any contemporary televised British dramas yet. It really is essential viewing if you enjoy a slick, intelligent and well produced show. I am definitely not a fan of 'James Bondesque' thrillers, and Spooks really raises the bar for credible espionage based dramas. I would recommend this to anyone with a few brain cells in need of refreshment!
