Good solid filmBy daytripper2k (12 reviews) , 15 Jun 2011
[Highly rated reviewer]After seeing an advanced preview of this film. I have decided to fill in some details that you need to know before going to see this film. Due to the fact when I told my mate its a vampire film he thought twig light
The type of film is horror vampire, not twilight. The vampires are the bad guys and they dont twinkle in the light. The world is gritty, everyone doesnt take their shirt off at a moments notice and no one looks like they spend all day in the gym.
So this film is a road/survival/coming of age film. Following the journey of two as they head to a promise land of Eden to escape the vampires and be safe.
This isnt a closet monster film so no jumps.
The film is solid in story, acting and well shot. There is a missed beat towards the end where the film starts to sneak into big bad territory like say blade but that is short lived.
One thing that I found to be a bit of a mistake on the part of the story was, mister is supposed to be a hard nut that kills vampires. Due to this he gets recognition and respect. However all through the film you see mobs of civilians (and another group) manhandling vampires like animals. So if anyone can manhandle them why is he held is so much regard.
all in all a lot better than daybreakers

Watch PontypoolBy monkeeboy (2 reviews) from Belfast , 30 Jun 2012This was the least engaging, scary, entertaining horror film I can remember enduring & that is a fair brave statement.
GOOD movieBy CD10 (11 reviews) , 19 Jun 2012good film , not as boring as normal vamp films
loved the main characters
a few funny bits , over all fab film
no redemption/ no cool womenBy a customer , 16 Jun 2012painful to watch - I love zombie movies and some sexy vampire movies but this was so horribly focussed on violence towards all women - with no redeeming features, characters or strong female role models, instead a world of violent men and no intelligence or clever plot or twist or premise of any value....
Avoid at all costs!!

Disappointing overall...By SiSlayRD500 (165 reviews) from Solihull , 11 Jun 2012I found this disappointing overall. It had potential and really could have beeen so much more, but for me it was on the flat / non engaging side of the rails - it was just missing something.
Amongst other things I found the lead role (Mister) unconvincing and the film (maybe) would have been better with someone else playing that character (maybe it was down to the script?!) - It was just missing charisma, viability (too many times) and did not leave me thinking 'well that was at least worth a watch'.
At a push I'd say it was 'just OK' (2 1/2 stars).
This Kinda SucksBy manonfireuk (401 reviews) from Liverpool , 10 Jun 2012The film had some good ideas but the film as a whole had the feel of a HBO mini series and not a very good one at that. The story really dragged on and by the end it felt like I had sat through a 5 part mini series. Given to the right director this could have been a fast paced, vampire action horror movie but sadly it just turns out to be a bit of a bore.
