Star Wars - The Clone Wars - Vol.1

STAR WARS - THE CLONE WARS combines dynamic, stylised animation with action-driven storylines as it explores new terrain in the already vast Star Wars universe. Debuting on the Cartoon Network in 2008, the show takes place during the embattled era of the Clone Wars (largely an off-screen presence in the theatrical films), following young Anakin Skywalker, C-3PO, and Yoda through stormy adventures and galactic battles. This collection of four episodes pits the syntactically challenged Jedi Master against the deadly assassin Asajj Ventress, while Anakin and Obi-Wan Kenobi try to steer a dreaded warship off course. The show shouldn't be confused with the 2003 animated series directed by Genndy Tartakovsky.

  • This is a cool weekly cartoon series from Lucasfilm Animation that finds a fresh new style for depicting the struggle of the Jedi and their army of genetically engineered clones against the seemingly indomitable droid army of evil Separatists

  • Although no half-hour TV series is going to capture the visual splendor and sophisticated sound of the big-screen experience, it's surprising how well this series reflects the style, attitude, ideals and spirit of the six STAR WARS films

    clone wars

As I wasn't a huge fan of the animated movie, I was pleasantly surprised that the tv series kind of ties it all together a bit more and helps make a little more sense of the clone wars. I also liked the way it portrayed the clones to have more individuality and maybe even a touch of jango's defiance. Although it is aimed more at the younger generation it wasn't too childish. I am still unsure about anakin having a padawan though..

    Glad i didn't buy!

Ok, if your looking for your Star Wars fix between Episodes II & III, this continues on from the animated film, and for what it is it is good, although geared mainly for the kids, rather than the fan or enthusiast.

With only 4 episodes, around 20 - 25 minutes, i'm glad i rented and did not buy!

With all that in mind, 3 stars.
