A missed opportunity! One for the kids, not die hard Star Wars fans
By Jonathan Pounder from Hartlepool , 14 Aug 2008[Highly rated reviewer]
To sum it up in one sentence - this film has the love child of Jabba the Hutt and South Parks' Cartman.
No opening Star Wars title, no Star Wars music, Christopher Lee not sounding like Christopher Lee, the Jedi wanting a truce with Jabba the Hutt, Anakin with a Padawan; a baby Jabba the Hutt.
The film sits between episodes 2 and 3 but there is very little interlinking them, this film is more targetted at children and the upcoming cartoon series.
Die hard Star Wars fans actually left the cinema in disgust during the film - thats how bad it gets!
If you are a fan and want to watch this film, dont expect to much. This film had huge potential, sadly it fell well sort of the mark.
If you are a young person then you will love it!- Was this review helpful to you?

(109)Watch toys, buy the toys.
By Ripple (8 reviews) from Sevenoaks , 14 Oct 2012What a complete mess. Crap animation. And just an excuse to show more toys. More and more toys fight. That's it. Disapointment even for kids.- Was this review helpful to you?

Boring, too much like computer game
By Bronek (1 review) from London , 05 Jun 2012This isn't your typical Star Wars movie - too much fight, too little reflection, no moral uncertainities. Fight can be entertaining but too much of it is boring. Too much like a computer game someone else is playing, and not really engaging.
Funnily enough the kids say they enjoyed it. I don't think they will be asking for another showing, though. They were visibly bored at the end, given up all attention to the plot.- Was this review helpful to you?

These are not the stars you're looking for.
By PWM71 (37 reviews) from Birmingham , 08 Jan 2012[Highly rated reviewer]
This wasn't actually as bad as I was expecting.
After the devestation which Lucas had inflicted on the Star Wars legacy, I found it to be very interesting that this animated film actually told a better story than the prequels.
Yes the opening title is more computer game than movie and the awful variant on the famous theme should've been rejected duirng the making. However if you get over the fact that almost none of the actors from the films appear perform the voices of their character, you actually get a decent film.- Was this review helpful to you?
