With these episodes the characterisations are really coming to the fore. This spin off of Stargate is really starting to show promise for the future.
The Stargate Franchise is excellent at building an edge-of-your-seat two parter, and rearranging the order of the episodes in the series to facilitate a three-parter only serves to heighten the interest.
UNDERGROUND is about a settlement that has a secret, one that is revealed later in the episode to the detriment of all concerned and basically Sheppard and the others end up making an enemy of the Genii...by not giving them all they want.
Leading onto the two parter, THE STORM and THE EYE .
It centres on a massive storm covering the majority of the planet. The Storm centres on the evacuation and plans to save Atlantis, while the EYE focuses on the Genii taking advantage of the low personnel on Atlantis and attacking it. The best thing about the EYE is the action and Sheppard playing the one man assault team trying to save Weir and McKay.
The DEFIANT ONE is great, after checking out a satellite nearby the planet where Atlantis is, the team, push onto another planet where there is a Wraith distress signal. Cue the evitable problem of the Wraith actually being there and one lone one tries to wipe out the team. Again Sheppard plays the action hero
good fun.
The extras arent as good as on the SG-1 DVDs hopefully theyll get better as they go on. Worth casting your EYE over the Storm ;)
