STARGATE SG1 !
By Paul from Kent , 07 Jul 2004[Highly rated reviewer]
Well, what more can you say? This is a 'feature length' finale to the 7th series in the search for the 'Lost City'. This episode continues on from the last one where a new president has been voted in and, as usual, the SG1 team ultimately 'boldly' go to a planet Far Far Away......and succeed with their mission (well almost)!
This is a great series and if you're an avid Stargate fan like me you won't want to miss this DVD - especially with the extra's, including an introduction to the spin-off 'STARGATE ATLANTIS' coming to the screens later this year.
ENJOY!- Was this review helpful to you?

(11)Season 7
By a customer from Cheadle , 19 Jan 2009this disc has one feature length episode titled the lost city.
O'neil is convinced that the last hope of finding the lost city of the ancients is to allow the ancient knowledge to be downloaded into his mind once again, while o'neils mind slowly deterioates anubis attacks and sg 1 must race against time to uncover the secrets of the lost city.
This is the series finale of series 7 and is a fantastic episode- Was this review helpful to you?

Flogging a dead Stargate!! Atlantis is better
By James Camerons Beard from Norwich, England , 29 Jun 2005I have been watching Stargate SG-1 since the start being a big fan of the original film(Devlin and Emmerichs finest hour!!!) In that time SG-1 has come up with some quality sci-fi moments and a very cool enemy in the shape of the Go`auld. Now the torch has been passed to the considerbly superior Stargate Atlantis (in my opinion) which is running alongside SG-1.
Ending season 7 of SG-1 this DVD is two epiosdes together making a TV movie of sorts. For me season 7 was not quite up to the standards of previous seasons which is saying a lot because there really isn`t a bad season to be had and this episode reflects that feeling. This could have been so much better and slightly less cheesy!!!
I just felt that this episode really shows that they are running out of ideas and, now that certain people have become aware of the stargate program, that this epiosde was more in the vain of Independance Day!
Rent it to tie up the season but don't hold your breath for classic SG-1.
Lets hope that season 8 lives up to the hype of 'the best season yet' but i am pinning my hopes on Atlantis. At the moment it has been better than recent episodes of SG-1.- Was this review helpful to you?

So close...
By Thomas Dumbleton from Wales , 15 Feb 2005Pull out individual moments from Lost City and you have a collection of some of the best of SG1. The plot has been heading towards this episode for several seasons and has something for everything. The tragedy of it all is that these moments don't string together as well as they could. The episode, which was at one point going to be a movie, could use an extra half hour to glue itself together. Nevertheless the effects are superb, the acting emotive, and the plot, though patchy, has its heart in the right place. Serious Go'uld bashing fun.
The extras, including a preview of the upcoming Stargate Atlantis series, are well worth a watch too.- Was this review helpful to you?
