    Excellent BUT...

You have to be a SG1 junky to get much out of this-which I am.

There are bits of history that are explained about what The Ancients had been up to when they and the Ori lived on the same planet. Lots of really good story.

BUT in between that loads of filler, there is only so much ‘one man walking in the snow’ you can watch – bit like watching pain dry in a nice park.

There are huge wasted opportunities with the script. One narrative is about “The Ark Of Truth'” the other is the filler. The worst of the filler is what happens on the spaceship whilst SG1 progress the Ark. The only reason to watch this is cos you are an SG1 fan and you need your fix. The good bits outweigh the bad bits which kick in about 60% thru the movie – up till then it is ace, after than make sure you have the Fast-Forward button handy.

When you want this – even you can see better alternative story lines than the ‘quickies’ they choose – I guess the money was running out?

Yes it up scales really well to 1080p and the 5.1 is excellent.
