This film is magical & surprisingly has not dated too badly so the joy is still there. Geoff Bridges is brilliant as always.The love story could be every womans secret dream! The film is slightly spoilt by the American's love of shooting & sending far too many police for the job!! Overall it is a good story & fun to watch.- Was this review helpful to you?

By a customer , 02 Apr 2013Science fiction without laser guns and weird faces or tin foil suits. Believable plot line including the reaction to meet new beings with force and ignorance. Bridges makes a convincing alien and develops the character through the film until his final gift. For the period of the film excellent special effects especially the transformation of Starman from alien to human. Well worth seeing!- Was this review helpful to you?

This is Starman
By Billzhorrorkinguk (23 reviews) , 28 Feb 2013John Carpenter(Big trouble in little china,The Ward) is my personal hero of mine this guy is the reason I love films today. This was a film which he done without full creative control but still makes a beautiful piece of cinema. Karen Allen(Raiders of the lost ark) gives the most heart felt acting of her career, along side her is Jeff Bridges(Crazy heart,Arlington road) who delivers such an array of acting diversity. This is what the eighties was all about.
Renting a VHS video and watching science fiction movies of this standard.
A real quality movie full of 80's special effects. Nothing more enjoyable.
I think most people will enjoy this film.
