Before Arnold Schwarzenegger found muscleman fame and Robert Englund became Elm Street's Freddy, they turned up as characters in Bob Rafelson's culture-clash tale about what happens when Alabama heir Jeff Bridges infiltrates a downtown gym for real-estate reasons and falls for Sally Field. Totally laid-back, this all seems pointlessly unstructured, until you realise that's the way it's supposed to be: an endearing look at barbell bums who may never win through, but have fun trying.

  • Rather obvious and pointless fable; well made but not very stimulating.

    I'd rather starve

Arnie showing what he was good at ie showing his muscles. Seriusly though not a very good movie, very predictable. Not one I would buy.

    Arnie Fiddles While Film Bombs.

Only gave it one star because you can't give no stars! One of Arnie's less well known efforts and I think he's quite content to keep it that way. Also starring Jeff Bridges (what was he thinking), Sally Fields, TC from Magnum P.i. and Johnny 'Freddie Kruger' Egland. Rotten story, characters and acting made in '75 and hopefully everyone was doing large amounts of coke that they all forgot they were ever in it!
