After his hit Taxi, director Gérard Pirès takes on Tinseltown with this distinctive crime caper. Featuring the first roller-skating crooks since Jean-Hugues Anglade trundled his way through Subway, the plot strives to provide a few novel twists on the last blag scenario. But Stephen Dorff's plan to land $20-million in five farewell raids is doomed to misfire after someone tips off the cops and the gang steals a consignment of Mafia money. The stunt performers merit mention for the high-speed chases and a fine underwater sequence. But everything else is overly familiar, right down to Steven Berkoff's scenery-gnawing histrionics.

Excellent
Me and bird went to cinema to watch a film,something must have gone wrong.Endedup choosing this one.Was awesome.Tried for ages to buy it but found it hard to come by.(also called riders).
Its like a fast and furious crossed with snatch. I have since heard many poor reviews and it didnt do too well. I thought it was really good. shame it didnt get a look in whenit was in cinema.
good plot, good action scenes.

Brilliant
This film was a lot better than I thought it was going to be.
Practicaly non-stop action all the way.
This one is a must for people who like action movies. -

action packed
High octane Nic Cage style action movie where characterisation takes a back seat to allow OTT action sequences and plot to run riot.
Great fun. -

Ugh
There is less cheese content in a packet of stilton. Could not watch it for longer than 20 minutes.

Give Mr Dorff a good role please
This would love to be Point Break - but it never quite makes it. Stephen Dorff is a good actor who for me is yet to fire on all cylinders - mostly for want of a good script and someone believing in him enought to give him a great part. Come on - if Jude Law can be hyped - why not give this guy a chance? Natasha Henstridge you feel is herefor all the wrong reasons. She is never given a chance either - and never quite pulls what little she has off (the script ok). This is bargain bin at Woolworths - not really worth hiring from here. It is fun though - and it is entertaining.

Passes the time
Seen so many films like this before, Stephen Dorff is good though, so ok to watch if nothing else to do. Don't expect much from this film.

Cool Movie
Steal was a cool movie. It doesn't try to be something that it aint, it is just what it is- a cool film. Doriff plays a good solid cool character in this as the mastermind of the best heist and planned to specific detail. It's cool to watch them pull off these heists with hardly anyone getting hurt. Except maybe some cops, but you don't really care about them.
Steal is a cool heist movie with plenty of action and extreme stunts to keep you entertained. -
