Don?t be fooled by what is a relatively strong cast — this is just another slapdash action cheapie from the ever prolific Jim Wynorski. Here the template seems to be Broken Arrow, with Ice-T playing a top pilot who steals a top of the range stealth fighter plane and then teams up with a drug baron to extort the US Government for billion of dollars. Costas Mandylor is the naval officer assigned to bring the rogue pilot in, and there are fleeting appearances from an eclectic collection of vaguely familiar faces such as former Baywatch babe Erika Eleniak, William Sadler and Ghostbuster Ernie Hudson as the US president. However, no one makes an impression, while the action sequences and effects are laughable.
Being one that will give any film or actor the benefit of the doubt, I watched 'Stealth Fighter', bearing in mind there wasn't any reviews. Oh dear - I'm not one to want to turn a movie off without watching it all the way through, but I came very close with this film. Not even a few well known actors could save this one - Ice T, Ernie Hudson, William Sadler, Andrew Divoff to name a few. The story line was shamefully all over the place, the acting was abysmal (even bordering on embarrassing) and the same camera footage of the aircraft was used over and over again. All I can say is if your a big Ice T fan, then stay away. It'll change your perception of him as an actor!!
It is the worst film I have ever sat down to watch.
I steals footage from Flight of the Intruder and other films..... utter rubbish!
Excellent flight scenes and battle action.
