Danger!
By Ray Miller from Free Swindon , 05 Sep 2008[Highly rated reviewer]
At the risk of your sanity DO NOT watch this film. 95 minutes of my life I will never get back. I am a Ferrell fan but this is by far the worst thing he has done. Two grown men acting as teenagers while their doting parents look on. That's it! For over one and a half very long hours. Oh yes, at the end they suddenly get sensible and successful. Gosh.....not at all predictable then.
Several people walked out. I wish I had.- Was this review helpful to you?

(516)Very funny actually if you are prepared for something light
By Bobsview (559 reviews) from Gloucestershire , 10 Mar 2013Typical Will Ferrell but an original plot with two waster near 40 year old step bothers duelling with each other and eventually forming an alliance. I found it very funny for most of the film. Towards the end it lost its way a little and they did not seem to know how to end it but do not let that put you off. It is not supposed to be deep-just light hearted silly fun and it does acieve that. It is absolutely a very good watchable comedy.- Was this review helpful to you?

Typical Ferrell..
By a customer , 27 Feb 2013I'm not really a Ferrell fan.. His acting seems to consist of pulling lots of silly faces, doing silly voices and teenage boy humour.. and it's the same in every film that he's in, including this one. That's just the way he is.. you don't watch a film like this expecting high-brow, deep and intelligent humour.
I added this to my watch list because I'd heard a lot about it and seen it on lots of 'must-see' lists. I actually found it painfully unfunny.. but I suppose that's my fault for expecting something different. If you like his previous work, there is no doubt you'll love this too - completely ridiculous, juvenile and just plain silly, just as you'd expect.- Was this review helpful to you?

What was I thinking?
By a customer , 29 Nov 2012What was I thinking when this went on the rental list??
Slacker grown-ups (doubtful) living at home fight-make friends-fight and catch a moral...keep the dinosaur!! Huh??
Now, I chuckled several times in the first twenty minutes, some good opportunity here for a grown-up twist on stroppy kids without the need for a magical body shift but the film quickly tailspins into repetitve lame, dull sentimental territory that had me watching the clock thinking how much longer.
Ferrell sleep walks through his part and wont win him any new fans, watch with low expectations and you wont be disappointed.- Was this review helpful to you?

sibling rivalry
By kevil9 (120 reviews) from Glasgow , 18 Oct 2012you know what you're going to get with a film like this, and it's definitely one of those for a late-night disengage brain and laugh at everything juvenile.
It sells itself as a vehicle for its star and his ability to make himself look ridiculous at every turn in his films
There is no need to read reviews looking for in-depth critique. If you like Ferrell you will probably bust a gut when he gets his hands(ahem!) on the drum-kit- Was this review helpful to you?
