This was quite enjoyable in its own way. If my memory is correct, Stiffelio was played by Jose Careras who is always a joy to listen to but the story of adultery and forgiveness did not have the sort of substance you would get from Wagner for instance. But if you like singing, give it a try.
Great singing but a bit heavy going if you are not a real opera buff.
I thoroughly enjoyed this and the tension between the main characters was fantastic. Carreras in particular brings passion and intensity to this performance.
