Yeah, yeah - we all know the stuff about how even the middle classes are capable of unspeakable violence in the right circumstances. There have been graphic films about that for at least 40 years. So nothing new here then. Well, perhaps what is new is just how horrible the revenge deaths are compared to the pain meted out to our 'heroes'. You kind of feel sorry for the bad guys by the end.

To sum up the plot, a dense barrister (he even has trouble using a light switch) and his moaning younger girlfriend end up in the wilds, at the mercy of the local crazies. While the barrister does not manage to do a single helpful thing, his other half transforms. She goes from a French artist too simple to realise that if you are cold, zipping up your wet suit might help, to a cross between MacGyver and Rambo. Blood-drenched silliness ensues. I'll give it a star more than it deserves because I believe it has its tongue in its cheek -surely?
