    superb

my children loved this dvd. If you have not read any of the Alex Rider books, then they are sort of like James Bond.

The main difference is that Alex Rider is a teenager.

Alex is a teenage spy who lives in Chelsea and he also works part time for MI6.

He is linked with this association, because of his father who worked for them previously.

When Alex Rider's uncle dies, it is up to him to finish his mission off. A suspiciously charitable billionaire, wants to donate a brand new computer, called the Stormbreaker to every school in the country.

the film is action packed, with a lot of fight scenes, when Alex goes undercover at Sayle's headquarters to investigate the computer 'the Stormbreaker'. it even includes Alex walking down a wall backwards.

You get to see some of the most famous parts of London, sometimes in some very entertaining situations.

one of the most nail biting sequences in this film, is when Alex is in a breaker's yard, seconds away from being mangled. the scene involves a lethally caged squid.

Alex has to prevent english school children, being murdered via a virus delivered by the supercomputer `The Stormbreaker'.

the cast are superb, which includes Stephen Fry, Alicia Silverstone, Ewan McGregor, Mickey Rourke and Bill Nighy.

    well worth watching.

    Windbreaker

This film is about a boy who becomes a secret agent after his uncle dies. I went into this film thinking it was going to be amazing, I had heard so many good things about it, but maybe that was the trouble. The story was very poor and the acting in my opinion was very weak. It had a couple of good action parts, hense the 2 stars, but it def. didn't live up to the hype for me. The kids also watched this and my son who is a very big James Bond fan also found it below standard. I actually think 'Spy Kids' is a better all round movie than this one. Don't expect James Bond Jr here, its nowhere near it.

    Storming good fun!

I saw this on the first day release and after reading the book couldnt wait to see some of the action scenes. Plenty of great sequences and quite a few not to be found in Horrowitz's pages. The bonus was the humour and the way the 'baddies' and 'goodies' sent themselves up. It didnt take itself too seriously and this kept a balance of teen espionage and tongue in cheek gags. Bill Nighy demonstrated this with just his eye-brows!

Well worth a watch for young and old.

    Fun Movie and Excellent Cast!

The actual rating I gave is 3 stars--with one extra for Bill Nighy--what a guy! The man can do anything--he can be a squid man in Pirates of the Caribbean and he can be a weird MI6 leader all in the same year (roughly!) My son chose this film because he liked the Horowitz books that it's based on...I thought oh no--how bad is this going to be? However, I really enjoyed it, much to my surprise. The cast is excellent--the young lead actor is appealing and has stunning blonde highlights and dazzlingly white teeth. Bill Nighy, as usual steals the show--is there no role that man can't handle?!!

    Its OK

Not bad for a UK film.

    Look at the casting.

Any actor with any credability in this film are not in it for a very long.

However the other actors eg. Alicia SILVERSTONE, and matey who plays the lead role (the vilans are a bit OTT) are reasonable and make it entertaining. Not bad!!!!

    A Treat for the Kids

I recently took a party of children between 6 and 9 to see this for my son's birthday and every one of them loved it. Is it as good as the book? No. Did the kids mind? Not a bit. The only bad reviews of this film I've seen have been written by adults - and guys....we're not the target audience.

    Fab Action Family Film

My family all really enjoyed this film, adults and 9 year old son alike. Great entertainment, great stunts. It was a true family film, with no inappropriate references, no hollywood romancing, just a brilliant action movie. We loved it!

Inferior boy-Bond cliched tripe for kids

A should've-been-great cast of overactingly-rubbish thesbs ham it up in this nothing-for-an-adult-audience ludicrous spy actioner. Not even the normally superb Mickey Rourke can save this load of old pants. I don't care if it is supposed to be for kids - there's no reason why it couldn't have been sharp and cool and watchable for adults too. The plot is ridiculous; i've seen better action in television programmes; it's completely and utterly generically forgettable.

Don't let your kids watch it! Demand better cinema for them!
