Stranded - a disappointing attempt at a classic story

This is based on the classic tale 'A Swiss Family Robinson' but failed to take full advantage of the opportunities that afforded. For example, not enough was made of how the family adapted to their surroundings and established themselves on the island - it simply moved by caption to '7 years later', taking up the plot from then on. Some of the acting was wooden but the locations and set were excellent. This smacked of a 'made for TV' production - don't know whether that was the case but it felt like it. Nevertheless, although it was not by any means a classic, it might appeal if you have nothing else to do or watch on a rainy evening !
