The river police are not usually known for their on-screen heroics, but this ripsnorting Bruce Willis vehicle certainly puts them on the map. Willis plays his usual hard-nosed loner, who here finds himself relegated to the unfashionable water cops (and partnered with Sarah Jessica Parker) when he breaks ranks and testifies against a policeman who also happens to be a member of his family. However, a serial killer with an unhealthy interest in Willis's life offers the chance of redemption. The aptly named Rowdy Herrington ensures the action roars along and that the set pieces are suitably big and brash, while the exemplary supporting cast — John Mahoney, Dennis Farina, Tom Sizemore and Robert Pastorelli — can't be faulted.

I just love Striking Distance especially Bruce, his sexy and fab in this film, it's one of his best's movie's. And so is Sarah Jessica Parker she is really good in this too.
Bruce and Sarah worked really well together.
In the first scene you can tell it's old and looks very predictable.
I had to pause the movie many times to make a coffee.
It's everything but predictable.
A young Sarah Jessica Parker helps to make the movie more enjoyable but is still corny in places.
Striking Distance looks older then it actually is but is worth a watch.
If you like Bruce, you MUST watch 'Tears of the Sun'
first saw this at the movies it was good then as it is now on dvd if your a willis fan this is a must

excellent film with plenty of action and a twist at the end
Yeah, yeah only Bruce can do it. Yes he's a bit mad, a bit bad etc etc. Okay watch on an evening when there is only a choice between the X factor and Come dancing!!!
dated but still worth a watch
This is a very bog standard film a typical Bruce Willis performance
As a fan of bruce you gotta get this one out. Its nothing amazing but it'll entertain you with some usual bruce willis action scenes and brucy charm! Certainly not a classic but a nice way to spend the evening with a bit of action.
seen this film before but thought it worthy of a second viewing! Bruce Willis is brilliant in this role. well worth watching.
tipical willis over the top hirt guy that comes good

An unoriginal mix of car chases, tough cops and fist fights providing undemanding entertainment for the unthinking.
"...Herrington does have a flair for action..."
"...An enjoyably brisk movie spectacle..."
