Good quality Van Damme fare!By Duncan Price from Brighton , 21 Sep 2004
[Highly rated reviewer]The question of whether you will like this movie mainly hinges on if you are a fan of Van Damme films or not.If you are this turns out to be certainly one of his most 'Hollywood' films and perhaps the best of them since he became well known.Fans of his earlier films such as 'Bloodsport' may be disappointed however,by the lack of martial arts sequences and fight scenes. For people who dislike Van Damme for his eccentric, slightly wooden, style of acting and his addiction to beating people up,DON'T WATCH THIS FILM!The plot is scarcely believeable and the acting pretty poor in terms of quality and starpower.Fortunately i find Van Damme watchable and this is fairly easy viewing hence the rating.

Sudden Death, Van Damme in one of his best.By thecuckoo (136 reviews) , 01 Nov 2013Van Damme in one of his best films and at his best. Good plot great action a bit violent at times and brutal but with the childrens' involvement it has a dad makes good appeal to it.
as good as Die Hard 1By cheesekake (1498 reviews) from uk , 27 Apr 2012this film is a lot like Die Hard the first and is as good as that film.
Jean Claude kicks it in this action packed film with a strange twist.

THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS Show review anywayHideI love this film. Alongside Universal Soldier it is JCVDs best films. Yes I know its just Die Hard at a ice hockey game, but its fun and has some great action especially the ending where our hero is left dangling from the roof. All fantastic stuff. The bad guys are of the boo hiss variety and its obvious that most people were doing this for the pay cheque, but I dont care, this is great entertainment and perfect for a weekend booze movie where you can just settle back and give the old grey matter time off. ENJOY IT
Typical Van DameBy a customer from Swansea , 12 Mar 2008Bit of a bore. One man meets army, one man kills army, we all go home and live happily ever after.
The most amazing part of the movie was the really bad special effects of a helicopter doing a slow motion crash into the ice rink!
Don't rush to get it out.
