[Highly rated reviewer]Highly enjoyable thriller with a Hitchcock style of direction. If you have seen and loved the suspense and nail biting quality of Jagged Edge then I highly recommend this. Likewise Joan Crawford gives a worthy Oscar nominated performance. A classic not to be missed.
great 40's thrillerBy JeanH (4 reviews) , 14 Sep 2013Excellent wet Saturday afternoon black and white thriller. the wonderful Joan Crawford, and Jack Palance. Lots of wide eyes from Joan, and for once she is the victim, not the 'baddie'. Loved this film with a neat little twist at the end
No fear in giving this a good ratingBy a customer , 18 Apr 2013This Joan Craford/Jack Palance thriller just stops short of being excellent. It's hampered by a slow first half and (as another reviewer says) weak ending, however overall the whole film is still well worth watching.
fabulous movieBy DESMONDY (7 reviews) , 06 Feb 2013i thought this was going to be a reasonable movie but it was absolutely wonderful. great story and wonderful acting from palance and crawford. gloria graham as usual giving stout support.
Joan Crawford - One of the BestBy Cato (772 reviews) from Lydbury North , 03 Aug 2012A superb performance from Joan Crawford doesn't altogether hide the fact that the film's plot is too complicated with its minutiae of lists and the ending is a bit of a weakj cop out. However, all is forgiven when Joan does her stuff. She's brilliant.
a winnerBy rendlesham (24 reviews) , 21 Mar 2012very good story and acting - totally well written and suspenseful - the whole film flows and keeps you absorbed, interesting dark idea - well worth getting out
