SUGAR & SPICE is a wicked black comedy about high school, teenage pregnancy, and five bankrobbing cheerleaders armed with semi-automatic weapons. When Diane, (Marley Shelton), a popular high school cheerleader, gets pregnant with the star quarterback's baby, she turns to crime to support herself and her child. Fortunately, her five best friends on the cheerleading squad are, like, totally supportive of her decision! Together they devise a plan for a series of major bank heists to benefit Diane's future financial security. With a hot young cast including Mena Suvari (AMERICAN BEAUTY), Marla Sokoloff (TV's THE PRACTICE), and James Marsden, SUGAR & SPICE is a teen comedy with some unusual twists.

The cast list — Mena Suvari, James Marsden, Rachel Blanchard — is an impressive roster of twentysomething American actors, and they all look as if they had fun making this broad, if not always successful, comedy about a group of cheerleaders who turn to bank robbery when one of their number (Marley Shelton) gets pregnant and is disowned by her parents. Mildly amusing teen fare, with a grown-up cast that includes Sean Young and king of the annoying cameos, Jerry Springer.
"...Amusingly subversive, thanks to sharp writing and direction....Performances are on the money right down the line..."
One of the worst films I have ever seen. Even the presence of the wonderful Mena Suvari was not enough to redeem this turkey. Utter drivel - don't even think about it!
A film about friendship and love.
A group of cheerleaders come together and devise a plan to help their friends money problems.
Funny in places, one you can watch without having to think. Silly but enjoyable.
