Ryan Dunne (Freddie Prinze, Jr.) pitches a mean fastball, which is why he's been chosen for the elite Cape Cod Baseball League. A college dropout, he dates a promiscuous local girl and works long hours for his hard-drinking father's landscaping business, tending the lawns of the rich "summer people." One of these lawns belongs to sleek, sexy uptown girl Tenley Parrish (Jessica Biel). Sparks fly between the two, and without a second thought, Ryan trades in his trashy girlfriend for the Ivy League Tenley. Needless to say, her snobby, aristocratic father is horrified that his daughter is dating the lawn boy, and does everything he can to break up their romance.
The star-crossed lovers also face other challenges. Ryan dreams of becoming a major league player, and this summer he might get his big break because the Cape Cod League attracts pro baseball recruiters from around the country. But Ryan too often chokes up on the pitcher's mound--his mother's death and his father's drinking have left him with some pretty heavy baggage to carry. The sensitive and smart Tenley helps her handsome guy overcome his fears, on and off the field. As she tells Ryan, "If you want big rewards, you gotta take big risks."

Not even a cast of fresh-faced acting hotshots can give flavour to this bland and undistinguished teen sporting romance. A tried and tested formula, the film applies all the usual strength-through-adversity clichés, and wraps them up in a poor-boy-meets-rich-girl subplot. Freddie Prinze Jr is the quick-tempered lawn boy given a shot at major league baseball success, only to jeopardise his chances by falling for Jessica Biel, daughter of one of his rich clients. Of course, this being Hollywood schmaltz, a fairy-tale ending is guaranteed, leading to the obligatory “will he or won't he” climax. Such obvious storytelling may charm the under 18s, who no doubt will also love the fruity language and saucy innuendo, but for anyone older, it's just a cute-looking bore.

Jessica Biel + Freddy Prinze Jnr star in this OK romance film
i wont explain the film as i think the Synopsis gives a basic idea of what the films already about.
Having seen Jessica Biel in Rules Of Attraction (ok, so it was a very small part) and the Texas Chainsaw remake i thought i would watch some of her other films to see how she is in different roles.
Most people will be put off because of Freddy Prinze Jnr been the lead role, but if you can put up with him its not that bad of a film. Plus, its got Matthew Lillard (Scream, Hackers, and Shes All That, in which he appeared along side Freddy Prinze again) and Brittany Murphy (who id say was best in Girl, Interuppted from what ive seen of her work) along side Jessica who just about make up for the lead actor.
If your after a 'date-movie' or you like a romantic film from time to time and dont fancy some of the others on the market then give this a try. dont put a film off because of what others say. -

Made For Saturdays!
This Movie it about as uncomplated as they come! poor boy, meets rich girl, they get together, they brake up.............. I think you guy know the rest. However Matthew Lillard (Scream) adds a little bit of comdy also there are a number of early role for some of Hollywoods brighist young stars! If your looking for a film to fill up your list and kill a couple of hours on satuday this is one for you.
