[Highly rated reviewer]This film comedy drama is superb and stars Amy Adams, Emily Blunt and Alan Arkin.
Former high school cheerleading captain Rose Lorkowski (played by Amy Adams) is a thirty-something single mother who cleans houses for a living.
Wanting to send her trouble-making 8 year old son Oscar (played by Jason Spevack) to a private school, Rose decides to take her married lover's advice and get into the 'lucrative' business of crime scene cleanup.
Rose convinces her disillusioned, underachieving sister Norah (played by Emily Blunt) to join her in the enterprise, which she calls 'Sunshine Cleaning.'
Norah stills lives at home with their dad Joe(played by Alan Arkin) a salesman with a lifelong history of ill-fated get rich quick schemes.
The sisters begin to find meaning in their function to 'help' in some way in the aftermath of a loss, just as the job stirs up memories of their own mother's death.
Their priorities and goals are tested and Rose and Norah face hard challenges as they strive to improve their lives.
Well worth watching !

How strange.By Rockzilla (27 reviews) from Scotland , 29 Jun 2011What an odd film....and because of that, I liked it a lot.
Certainly not your run-of-the-mill Trolleywood trash.

completley lame filmBy tracychick (36 reviews) , 05 Jun 2011this film wasnt as good as it sounded. I rented it because amy adams and emily blunt are good actresse;s . The film was lame and didnt really have a good ending either!!!
Alright but...By Getcarlos (1 review) , 25 May 2011Although a quirky film, it lacks a definate ending and leaves many storylines untied. Such is life i suppose!
Emily Blunt and Amy Adams play roles typical of themselves... very well too.
Worth watchingBy MaxineCooper (13 reviews) from Uxbridge , 23 May 2011I have to admit to being surprised by this film. It's an off-beat, quirky, sometimes funny and often moving story of two sisters in low-paid menial jobs who go into business cleaning up crime scenes. Not a subject you expect to work as a movie, but about half way through you realise that it has your attention and you are involved in the lives of these women.
The performances are good; I especially liked Alan Arkin's role and there is a back-story which gives real emotion to the piece and carries things along well.
In short I would recommend it. Pity it seems to have flown under the radar when it was first released.
Worth the rental
