I really love down-at-heel seaside towns so I loved the setting for this film and the atmosphere that it so brilliantly captured. The difference between our delapidated and dying towns and this one is that ours aren't hot and sunny and there are no manatees. This film captures the mood and the feel of the place brilliantly, I felt sweaty just watching it.
The screenplay is very clever and there are some fantastic and memorable one liners. I'll never be able to look at a tequilla in the same way again.
Interestingly I thought the real stars of the film were Edie Falco and her on-stage mum Jane Alexander although their names appear way down the credits list.
