Not you Doomsday comic
By webs (29 reviews) from Liverpool , 29 Dec 2007[Highly rated reviewer]
This was an enjoyable cartoon but please dont get as excited as I did and think this is basically the Death of Superman comics in animation form because it's not. Basically the only thing this has in common with the comic version is the characters they have used but the story is nowhere near as good as the comic. I dont really follow the superman animated cartoon but it's got a different feeling to it than the comics and a different story oviously I understand that to do an animated version of the Death of Superman comics would not be understood by the general public so I think this is why they have changed it so much. Still good cartoon if you don't know about the comics.- Was this review helpful to you?

(21)Krypton gets Krapton
By Rigamortis (95 reviews) from South London , 19 May 2012Yeah, that's right! Super Stupes gets battered like a piece of fish. Some ugly mo' fo' from out of town rolls up and takes Kal El's face for a walk. This is the full length cartoon of the mega storyline that saw Superman killed by Doomsday (that is NOT a spoiler - you'd have to BE from Krypton not to know Superman got terminated). This was originally a storyline designed to revitalise Superman when he was getting stale - and did it ever work. Bravest ... decision ... in comic book history ... EVER! They killed him, let his death fester for MONTHS and when everyone thought he was gone for good they brought him back.
A word of warning - this cartoon is violent. It's basically an epic fist fight between two individuals that know Death is the only one who can ring the final bell. Doomsday is relentless and Superman has to give everything to stop him and prevent certain disaster for Earth. And he does. For those not entirely familiar with the whole story, I will leave it there. Suffice to say, the end is not the very end. But, you already know that. So stop whining about 'Oh no, he told us what happens' and just get your eyes wrapped round this most essential of DC tales. This is where the revival all started. TV series after TV series, movies, reduxes and of course comic book resurrection. The legend became THE PHENOMENON that is SUPERMAN. Leap THAT in a single bound, homeboy!- Was this review helpful to you?

Too dark for kids. Too poor for adults
By a customer , 25 Feb 2012Odd: Too dark for kids yet they've kept the film in the style of the kid's series. Pretty confusing seeing characters kill each other.
It's a little rubbish for adults too.- Was this review helpful to you?
