Aaaah, Superman.
When a Blockbuster was a Blockbuster, when it stayed at number one for weeks on end and dominated the summer.
It really is one of those films that crystallizes a particular era, one of hope and when the prospect of the future was an exciting propsition.
If anything, this film along with many, many others, is the proof that 'They' really do NOT make them like this anymore.
Genuine classic status.
