Like watching it for the first time.........

Having seen so many disjointed superman movies broken up by advert breaks and shown in the very restrictive pan and scan format, this 1: 2.33 original format version was a breath of fresh air. The 5.1 sound is also very impressive. It's a slow paced, action/romance with great performances from Christopher Reeve and Gene Hackman, and a great score from the legendary John Williams. I thought I'd seen Superman before, it turns out I hadn't seen much of it, which was nice.

It's a thoroughly enjoyable Sunday afternoon flick that you can watch with the kids. Ok some of the 'special effects' are a bit ropey, but then again this film was made when I was about 6 months old..........

Overall, I'd say it's aged gracefully. Recommended
