A missed opportunity
By Malc (34 reviews) from London , 14 Nov 2007[Highly rated reviewer]
On the plus side, it's great to have a genre thriller where the leading man is both gay and 'normal' - he sleeps with men but he's not camp or outrageous or simply there to be the comedy 'best friend'. I also commend the director's wish to say something about a society under constant scrutiny and about the paranoia iand homophobia which still exist in high circles. But for all its ambitions this fails to satisfy. The mixture of formats (film, HD, CCTV footage) must have seeemed daring but it looks cheap, and the performances don't seem to have had time to settle in. Only experienced veterans Simon Callow and Michael Elwyn give the piece weight and a credibility which the unpersuasive storyline fails to deliver.- Was this review helpful to you?

Half baked
By a customer from Surrey , 05 Feb 2010This film felt like a two or three part TV 'thriller' (probably ITV, maybe Channel 4 on a bad day!). The idea was good but there was little tension or excitement and boundaries could have been pushed further and it was rather sterile as was the acting generally. The surveillance themed camera work was over used and became irritating and distracting.- Was this review helpful to you?

CCTV - Turned Off
By OJ Donnelly from Surrey , 28 Apr 2009Disapointing! The acting was ok but the story was dull, slow and footage was distracting. Artistic perhaps but an hour and a half of it and it gets annoying.
Reason to watch this film - none, other than a good looking Tom Harper- Was this review helpful to you?
