Come, Come, Baby!
By MikeyboyPaines (53 reviews) from Fareham , 12 Apr 2007[Highly rated reviewer]
Insane, funny, mad, nasty, unpredictable, romantic, bizarre and colourful.
Contains scenes of murder, hypnotism, smoking, stabbing, commercials, flying, eating, bird imitation, Vinnie Jones and some dodgy toothed gay guy.
5+ star rating. This is a seriously insane movie. Love the soundtrack too.- Was this review helpful to you?

(22)A long, wacky, long movie
By BigMeUp (281 reviews) from Midlands, UK , 27 Jul 2010What's the best way to describe this movie? Strange, weird, odd? Isn't that just saying the same thing three different ways?
Get it?
Clever movie, clever review (but that's just to help you get it).- Was this review helpful to you?

Wonderfully Wierd and Oddly Insightful.
By H0LLIE (198 reviews) from UK , 23 Jul 2010This movie is one of the most unusual I have yet to see. The costumes and sets are extremely vibrant, creating a doll house like look to the whole movie. The acting performances are superb from all, particularly from Asano, though unfortunately Vinnie Jones ruins every scene in which he is present. The direction is disjointed, but in a manner which suites the film perfectly and the way in which it flips between stories.
At times this is laugh out loud funny, sometimes it is unbelievably touching, occasionly it is a little annoying. And it even finds time to throw in a rather beautiful message of acceptance. Over all this is a fantastic addition to my Asian cinema collection, and I would certainly recommend it.- Was this review helpful to you?

Bizarre, But Rewarding!
By a customer from Bristol , 07 Jun 2010First of all it's overlong and almost wears out its welcome at about the halfway mark because it seems to have nothing at all to say about anything and just wants to keep being flashy and weird for the sake of it. But then the various stories bear fruition and when the end credits role you may find yourself wishing there was more. I mean one thing guaranteed you will never forget this film. You could well hate it just as easily as you might love it. I'm not even sure it's a good film, but it's adventurous film making and I'm still thinking about the stories several days after watching it. A word of warning though, Vinnie Jones is just plain awful in this. Utterly terrible. He's not in it enough to spoil it too much though.- Was this review helpful to you?

Vinnie Jones should be ashamed
By village (4 reviews) from London , 15 Apr 2010I love Japanese cinema and I quite like Vinnie Jones in Snatch etc. which made me choose this film. Oh what a mistake! I picked up a book after 30mins of pointless and boring viewing. There is no plot, no progression, no cohesion and no point watching it. I like quirky films, but this was just being weird for the sake of it.

Great film
By JulianCAO (12 reviews) from London , 20 Dec 2009The film's a comedy split into five interwoven storylines, including an ad exec who finds all her ideas hilarious (no-one else does) and a man (named 'Aman') who keeps trying, with varying degrees of success, to kill his wife. It worked really well as a (surreal) comedy whilst still managing to tell interesting stories, weaving the different threads together in interesting ways without centering it all on one event as some similar films do. The visual style was surprisingly colourful too. It totally eschews the muted colours seen in most Japanese films (that I've watched) and also finds time to include some fantastic costumes and action sequences. All in all a very entertaining film and one I can see myself recommending whenever I can.
Bought the DVD right after.- Was this review helpful to you?
