The story of a young trapper who whilst lost in the swamp befriends a hiding fugitive (Walter Brennon). On his return to dry land he meets and falls for the fugitives daughter and sets about trying to clear her fathers name. I'm a big Dana Andrews fan and this was a great performance from him and everyone else involved. There's a real sense of menace in this movie, the swamp is a constant looming threat and I really enjoyed it.
