awesome US street life drama
By a customer from London , 10 Jan 2007[Highly rated reviewer]
I came across this not knowing what to expect and loved it. It's set in urban New Jersey, predominantly in the 90s, following the lives of a group of Italian American friends. You get to know the characters, their history and aspirations which makes it all the more interesting when the story starts to move up a couple of notches involving deceit, betrayal and mobster ties...ultimately and irreversibly changing the dynamic of the group.
Nearly all performances are very good with a real honesty to them, with Adrian Brody putting in an exceptional turn. The indie style and also street friends storyline of the film has been obviously influenced by a number of others; such as 'Swingers' 'The Brothers McMullen' and Scorsese's films, so it's a testament to the acting, directing and production of 'Sweet Jersey' that it still remains a very watchable film. Rent it!- Was this review helpful to you?

(2)Adrien Brody shines
By Christine Aldred from London, England , 19 Apr 2007This is a must for all Adrien Brody fans. This is his movie and he proves yet again what a brilliant actor he is. A typical American coming-of-age (whatever that's supposed to mean) movie; a bit sentimental in parts, almost predictable. You'll get the feeling you've seen this before and if you fancy Adrien Brody there are many many opportunities to freeze frame on his gorgeous face and it's worth every minute.- Was this review helpful to you?
