Sharp and funny definately money
By Sweeney from West Midlands , 14 Oct 2003[Highly rated reviewer]
This has to be one of my favourite films. The story itself is not really that complex but the way that the film examines the relationships between a group of male friends is exceptional. The group could be compared to the group of friends that any man may have there is the player who gets all the girls, the guy who has just come out of a long term relationship and has no confidence and no idea of how to work the dating scene and the slightly mad guy who can get you all in to trouble now and again. Plus a few fringe friends who add to the action in there own way. Throw in a great script with razor sharp dialect and some seriously great comedy sketches and you have what is in my book a great film. Trust me it is hard to say how good this film is in a small review but if you like things like the Big Lebowski then you will almost certainly love this movie.- Was this review helpful to you?

(66)If Goodfellas was comedy
By TheWatchman (518 reviews) from Suburbia , 11 May 2013Swingers is about five guys who are dealing with single life in various different ways, all sharing experiences as they go from one L. A. bar to the next. Thats about it. We follow their lives. A lot of people have criticised the film for having no plot. And theyre right, it doesnt really. But does it matter? Only if youre really only interested in films with tight and deep plots. If you like your comedy a little on the adult side (and perhaps this film will appeal to guys over girls), plus are happy to follow these people and simply go along with the ride, you should get something out of this. Its kind of like a gangster film, but without the violence and crime. You have many long talkie scenes, set around various bar tables in dingy clubs, while the protagonists sit back and discuss film trivia. This hardly drives the narrative forward, but, if youre into character pieces (and film trivia!) you should find it amusing.- Was this review helpful to you?

Excellent parodies of Reservoir Dogs and Goodfellas
By Bassman71 (630 reviews) from Didsbury, England , 29 Apr 2013Comedian still reeling from girlfriend break-up, moves from New York to LA, friends try to pick him up and get him back on the scene. Amusing comedy with a good chemistry between the actors and some excellent parodies of Reservoir Dogs and Goodfellas thrown in. You go through a mixture of emotions with Mike (Favreau) hoping that he will eventually move on but he gets quite frustrating at times as do his friends. Excellent soundtrack though which really fits well with the subject and scene.- Was this review helpful to you?

An absolute classic
By a customer , 13 Apr 2013This film is an absolute classic. Swingers came before Vince Vaughan started doing s**t comedy films and the autobiographical nature really enhances the storyline for me. I probably first saw this when I was about 16 or 17 and it just makes me want to go out to bars or clubs every time I see it. I'm a big fan of films that don't try to be too cool for school and Swingers is so f***ing money! It's just a shame that Money Supermarket have ripped off the catchphrase big style for their own financial gain although it does make me smile knowing there's only a few of us out there that really get the joke. Never ever will I tire of watching this film.- Was this review helpful to you?

Zero rated
By a customer , 12 Mar 2013Absolute drivel - tedious, not amusing. Don't waste your subscription on it - and to make matters worse I have to write at least 20 words here!- Was this review helpful to you?

...Not Great!
By AlexCook130 (5 reviews) , 10 Mar 2013I was referred this film by a friend. When receiving this film I was expecting something like a buddy movie. Instead I thought this was a dull comedy with, what have now become, great actors. The film seems to go nowhere. Favreau breaks up with his girlfriend...Vaughn takes him to get laid...he doesn't...still wants his girlfriend...finds a different girl. That is basically it with maybe a couple laughs along the way. I didn't enjoy this film but that is just my opinion. Everyone's welcome to one.- Was this review helpful to you?
