LOVEFiLM Review

By Tom Charity from LOVEFiLM
This heist thriller has some impressive levels of testosterone, with top-notch action scenes to boot.

Superb crime thriller
By Martin77 (210 reviews) from PLYMOUTH , 27 Dec 2010[Highly rated reviewer]
Reminicent of Michael Mann's classic ' Heat ' Takers is a superb crime thriller . Really well made and directed with first class acting from all the main players this high-drama film is one of the best i've seen in 2010.- Was this review helpful to you?

(280)Lacking In Every Respect
By Otter379 (54 reviews) , 15 May 2013Takers lacks originality stealing it's plot and stunts from better films. This might not have been an issue if a decent cast had been assembled but the cast are primarily support actors and can't carry the film. Hayden Christensen is the only stand out character but isn't on screen enough. Some good free-running stunts aside this is paint-by-numbers rubbish.- Was this review helpful to you?

Loved it!
By RoRo26 (1 review) , 22 Apr 2013Honestly, the storyline won't win prizes for originality but its a very well executed film. A stellar cast and fantastic action scenes. Not many films have you as invested in the perps and the police. I was gripped throughout! Highly recommend.- Was this review helpful to you?

Heist movie by numbers
By Jhno (8 reviews) , 21 Apr 2013Not too bad. It filled a hole. Some good action scenes and a good look to the film. I can't really see the why other reviewers are saying this is like the Italian job or Heat? OK it is a heist movie but the similarity ends there. I did enjoy watching it even though some scenes/plots were seemingly picked up and transplanted from other movies (even a scene straight out of the Good, the Bad and the Ugly). Liked the bit of Parkour thrown in too.- Was this review helpful to you?

Heat Stroke.
By BakaBaka (4 reviews) , 15 Apr 2013If you took Heat and made every element of it about 60% worse. You have this film. It gets better and hangs together reasonably well. But every character is such a swaggering, cliched, one dimensional douche bag. You find it very hard to care what happens to them or even what they're doing. Elba stands out as the only really convincing character.- Was this review helpful to you?

Had me Hooked
By a customer , 14 Apr 201310 minutes in I almost hit the off switch. Glad I didn't! This turned into an action packed heist movie with great direction, script and acting. Once your brain accepts the quick-fire editing technique, the the whole thing makes perfect sense, with the characters becoming wholly believable. Against all the odds it blossomed into a very clever film on many levels. A must see.- Was this review helpful to you?
