Sony wins in box office battle

Box office takings for 2006 were up from 2005 in the US, with Sony Pictures bringing in the most money for the year, it has emerged. According to Empire, cinema receipts totalled $9.13 billion (£4.7 billion) during the twelve-month period, which saw the release of a number of blockbusters and independent movies alike.
