  • Very unrealistic

    [Highly rated reviewer]

Before watching this film, I never knew that armymen were allowed to maintain hairstyles of their choice. What we have seen so far in films like Border and Lakshya is that armymen are only allowed short crop hair except for the Sikhs, which is the truth.

The movie starts with an unrealistic approach and ends with the same. How can an officer drop a new recruit in the middle of the forest amidst all the fears of the enemy, expecting him to reach the unit on his own?

Actors like Sanjay Dutt and Suniel Shetty were sheer waste. Ajay Devgan remained the saving grace. Tanisha was her usual stupid self.

Even though the unit would have worked hard for the success of the film, but the movie was a huge flop only because of reality element missing throughout.

  • Serious war film plus song-and-dance

Interesting as an account of what the Indian army does, and also seeing it from a different tradition of story-telling. You couldn't really have an outbreak of song-and-dance in 'Saving Private Ryan', but here you have it and it works.
