Che bella!
By Shiv379 (26 reviews) from London , 29 Jun 2006[Highly rated reviewer]
Being an Englishman who lived in Italy for three years I found this film gave some real context and history to the current Italian political climate.
This is a beautiful film, masterfully directed and with absolute class A acting, well worth a watch. It also reminds you just how damn stubborn us English can be ;)

Just brilliant !
By anniem1000 (3 reviews) , 06 Jan 2013Totally loved this film ....it makes you laugh, cry, cringe, get angry and cheer .... Excellent cast with Maggie Smiths performance particularly being sheer brilliance. You get to know the various characters and feel a mixture of love, hate, exasperation and affiliation with them... Definitely adding this to my all time favourite films ...- Was this review helpful to you?

First class film
By a customer , 15 Sep 2012Good family viewing, very funny and heartwarming. Excellent acting by excellent British cast with Maggie Smith and Judy Dench, playing their familiar roles, as brilliant as ever.
The film portrayed the years leading up to the second world war and seems to be realistic in capturing the times. It shows the change from a light-hearted existence to one of real danger, and how they coped.
A well crafted film with wonderful scenery.- Was this review helpful to you?

I thought story was lovely, a good one to lift the spirits, and great performances by the boys that played Luca.- Was this review helpful to you?
