In this likeable, if lightweight, comedy, a teenager who longs to be a little less ordinary discovers a family curse that kicks in when the Moon is full. Beneath the facial fur, this is just another film about growing pains, although it does feature cinema's only werewolf slam dunk sports sequence. As the unfortunate teenager, the ever engaging Michael J Fox is doing what he does best — turning a loser into a winner. Jason Bateman took over in the needless sequel Teen Wolf Too, after Back to the Future shot Fox to superstardom.

    A Teen Classic!

Okay, so Teen Wolf Too is basically the same movie, but Michael J. Fox is is in Teen Wolf doing what he does best.....being Teeny!

The guy doesn't look to have aged since he was 18 which is great for movies like this.

It doesn't compare to todays "teen movies" because they're all gross out comedy based, so this is old school movie goodness from the '80s, enjoy it.

    Love the 80's

These films don't have an epic story line or great special effects compared to todays standards. These films remind me of when I was a young lad. The days of bad hair and really bad fashion, impressing girls and being liked by everyone at school...that is just nostalgia.

The film just brings a smile to my face because we have all been there and can relate to the poor guy in some way. All he wants to do is fit in and be liked and get the girl of his dreams.

This is a film where you can just watch and enjoy. Have some popcorn and nachos, it puts a smile on my face.

I prefer Teen wolf with M.J.Fox then Teen Wolf 2, acting is ok and script is average. Its just the combination of things that make it enjoyable to watch.

    It's a great film from the 80's.

    80's films are the best

Brilliant!! Took me back to my childhood, forgot it even existed till I came on here, can't wait to get more of the 80's cheese.

A forgotten Gem of the 1980's

Teen Wolf was the film that really made Michael J Fox a star. It was a 1980's comedy smash hit and sits well with his other big films. If you've seen 'Can't Buy me Love' with patrick dempsey, you'll love this film as its on par if not better.

After watching this film, you'll remember all that was fun about the 80's

    Fond memories...

...should have been left as just that, in this case! I hadn't seen Teen Wolf since the late 80's, and was looking forward to wallowing in pleasant nostalgia. What I'd forgotten (or maybe hadn't realised as a teenager) is that it is a VERY slight film, with no depth at all, and none of the issues are ever fleshed out or considered (for example, would the whole town really just accept werewolves ...?). Michael J. Fox is cute as always, but spends a lot of screen time covered in hair, so there isn't even that to help matters!

After that disappointment, I didn't even bother with Teen Wolf Too.

My kids quite liked Teen Wolf though (although they didn't ask to see it twice).

    Classic

    Ah, Michael J. Fox...

Why did you have to go and get the shakes? You were so cool. Long live Teen Wolf.

Not 'Teen Wolf Too' tho, that was terrible - hence the lack of a star.
