Strictly for fans of the game, but not as pitifully bad as you'd expectBy reincarnationfish (20 reviews) from Leeds , 13 Aug 2010
[Highly rated reviewer]I thought I'd add a review from someone who's actually seen it.
If you're expecting this movie to be good, you're going to be let down. But let's face it, you're expecting this movie to be bad and it's probably not quite as bad as you'd expect.
Fight scenes are pretty good in places, so good work on getting the most important thing right. There's plenty of signature moves on display, though some characters do better than others for this. The costumes are pretty accurate too, although some of them could have done with some toning down (Heihatchi's hair, Christie's bum cleavage).
I'd have liked to have seen a few less New School characters. Paul Phoenix is notably absent, Jack too. And why did they put Martial Law in it when we all know he *IS* Bruce Lee?
As for the plot, I really don't remember there being one.

Exactly as Pitifully Bad as ExpectedBy TheOrs (200 reviews) from Southampton , 16 May 2011
[Highly rated reviewer]Does for the Tekken series exactly what the Streetfighter movie with Van Damme in did for Streetfighter, ie: not much good. Still, at least Streetfighter had some fairly decent manga offerings to make up for it.
The half acceptable UFC style fights are the only high points in the weary and tired revenge story. It's so bad it's laughable and whoever came up with the script should be shot.
give it a miss.
Tekken 1- Critics K.OBy Alaska1982 (3 reviews) , 14 May 2011I wasn't sure what to expect from this movie but I risked it and bought it the othr day as I am a big fan.
TO review it for what it is, a video game movie, I think it has been done well as long as you do not want a masterpiece.
There is some fantastic scenery, fight scenes, costumes and music and I would liken it to a long music video- very glossy with punchy edits and lots of action.
I was pleased to see appearances from Jin, Kazuya, Eddie, Heihashi and Yoshimitsu as well as other appearances from Marshall Law, Paul, Christie, Nina and Anna.
If you do want an easy film to watch then I recommend this.
another videogame movie bombBy a customer , 11 May 2011Ok, this didn't float my boat.
However switch you're brain off and the action is competent though not spectacular and Kelly Overton can't help but distract you enough not to doze off. Though I couldn't get over how seriously it took itself given the ridiculously o.t.t looking characters.
If you were entertained by D.O.A or the Streetfighter movies then this is in that league. Dash all your hopes of an improvement over those right now and you will enjoy it.
Laughbly BadBy a customer , 11 May 2011HA! This film is laughably bad - I'm a big fan of the games but this just didnt hit the mark at all - extremely low budget which is a shame as it had the potential to be so much more. Diabolical really - from the trailers you can tell this and it is as I expected it to be. Fight scenes are nothing special. The only thing this film has is a few hot women other than that its probably not worth your time : )
Absolute Bilge.By chrome7713 (4 reviews) , 07 May 2011From the inane intro to the pathetic plot this film is utter drivel.
Even worse is the script which is something my 4year old nephew could have written.
Even the fight sequences are lame.
One saving grace is the production design isnt too bad so It's quite a good looking film.
If only they had gone with the Enter the Dragon style competition format. it would have been more faithful to the game and a damn sight more interesting.
One to watch only if you are a hardcore Bmovie fan or you want want to fall asleep.
Honorable mention goes to Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa for THE worst role/performance in his career. Plus the hair/make up people on this film need sacking. You'll see what I mean when you watch this waste of a disc.
