UNFORGETTABLE
By a customer from England , 10 Sep 2004[Highly rated reviewer]
Another Iranian masterpiece from cult cinema director Abbas Kiarostrami. The film is a minimalist drama, the whole film is set in the front two seats of a car with two cameras employed. This may seem like a boring premise for a ninety minute film but the conversations that take place in the car are so diverse and engrossing that the vehicle setting does not restrict or inhibit the action. The emotions of the film run high, tension is easily built because of the small space of a car, a lot of the film was not scripted which is incredible. All in all a great little film with terrfic actors who reflect the Iranian political climate and times.- Was this review helpful to you?

(27)Four out of Ten
By HSMC (6 reviews) , 26 Feb 2012That's how many of these ten utterly naturalistic and at the same time utterly contrived conversations we endured before reaching for the (very) fast-forward. Only one of the 'actors' it seems was in on the wheeze and had dolled themselves up accordingly. The others were to greater or lesser degrees emotionally and physically exploited, sometimes embarrassingly so as the callousness of the concept fully revealed itself.- Was this review helpful to you?

Subtle and profound
By Vidyaruci (3 reviews) from Birmingham , 15 Jun 2010This film took my breath away. I have not been so impressed by a film since, well, the last Kiarostami film I saw, and the one before that. Technically so simple, and yet artistically so deep; the dialogue is riveting, and the acting superb, while the message touches on several nerve centres of human experience, such as desire, and the longing for freedom. Don't hesitate - watch it, and learn.- Was this review helpful to you?

Persian Intrigue
By bothyboy (7 reviews) from Glasgow , 02 May 2009An absorbing and thoroughly enjoyable examination of the life of a free thinking woman in contemporary Tehran. Her exchanges with the people she meets are framed by the interior of her car. Her relationship with her son is explored sensitively and I loved the character near the end who shaves her head!- Was this review helpful to you?

Unbelievably simple!!
By Carsey (89 reviews) from Wisbech , 23 Apr 2009This film is so simple that to explain it would probably put the majority of people off! but it is also absolutely enthralling.
Simply put, it is about an Iranian woman who taxis a number of people around submersing herself deep into conversation with all of them, the conversations are split in to 10 segments (hence the title) and they range between her son, her sister, her friend, a religious old lady and a prostitute, each conversation differing from the next.
I found the relationship she has with her son excellent to watch and it shows exactly the atitude the men and soon to be men have towards these women, even their own mother.
The filmis extremely intelligent and also show some of the political aspects of the country she lives in and the kind of worries they face.
If you appreciate a good simple film that will require your attention then this is a must!!- Was this review helpful to you?

Interesting Insight
By BeccyMalloi (124 reviews) from Kersey, Suffolk , 09 Mar 2009I would like to watch this film again as I did find it hard to really get into. I know this is simply because of the way its filmed but at the same time it's very clever and the way the issues are conveyed is very good.- Was this review helpful to you?
